MUBI is a global movie streaming platform reaching a community of 10 million film lovers around the world with offices in London, New York, Berlin, Istanbul, Mumbai, and Kuala Lumpur. MUBI is poised to become one of the leading streaming services in Southeast Asia, with a multi-channel offering developed specifically with the Malaysian market in mind. 
We are seeking a highly-motivated individual to join our team in Kuala Lumpur and lead all marketing strategy and execution. You will be an integral part of a small, dedicated team working to build awareness and fuel growth in the region in collaboration with global counterparts in London and New York.
  • Build and shape the marketing strategy of MUBI in Malaysia, helping to define long term goals for growth in collaboration with MUBI’s global VP Marketing 
  • Identify and pursue relationships with optimal platforms, corporate partners, institutions, and brands that will add value to MUBI in Malaysia 
  • Liaise with existing telco partners in conjunction with local Partnerships Manager 
  • Advise on marketing copy for website, email, and advertisements 
  • Coordinate with the global digital marketing team on paid acquisition campaigns 
  • Coordinate with local social media coordinator to strengthen/optimize organic social presence 
  • Align with local content team to leverage channel programming for building awareness and acquiring new subscribers 
  • Work with global Director of Comms to increase press exposure for MUBI
  • Focus on subscriber acquisition, testing new offers/distribution models, and growth channels/strategies
  • Analyze and evaluate marketing activities to determine impact, monitoring and optimizing to constantly improve KPIs (activation, engagement and churn)
  • Shape and refine go-to-market strategy and value proposition as product continues to grow and evolve in Malaysia
  • Create a regular reporting system to brief senior team on progress 

  • At least 5 years experience in marketing
  • Expertise with digital marketing, product/brand marketing and/or media planning/buying 
  • Strong understanding of the Malaysian market and the SVOD landscape 
  • Entrepreneurial mindset, highly motivated, thrives in an unstructured, fast-paced environment
  • Creative thinker, willing to look past easy answers to find the best solution to any problem
  • Impeccable attention to detail and highly organized 
  • Team player who enjoys working collaboratively with cross-functional counterparts 
  • A confident and effective communicator with strong writing skills
  • Analytics-driven mindset with instinct to track and measure results, learn, optimize, and iterate
  • Fluent in English and Malay; additional languages always a plus 
  • Passion for great cinema
