Director of Releases Marketing, US

Reporting to: Senior Director of Marketing, MUBI Releases, Global

MUBI is a rapidly growing global streaming, distribution, and production company curating the world’s best cinema. We are seeking a creative and passionate marketing professional to join our team in New York or Los Angeles.

As the Director of Marketing, you will lead the marketing for MUBI’s slate of all-rights releases in the US, working closely with the Global Marketing and US Distribution team to craft and deliver exciting and innovative marketing campaigns for our slate of new releases, across theatrical and digital distribution.


  • Lead marketing campaigns for US new releases, from theatrical to SVOD campaigns 
  • Determine positioning, placing media buys and approaching key strategic partners for each US-facing MUBI Release campaign
  • Manage in-theater exhibitor marketing for MUBI releases
  • Collaborate with MUBI’s in-house creative team to produce key artwork, trailers and additional assets for a multitude of media
  • Work with our local marketing teams worldwide on multi-territory campaigns to maximize potential for each release
  • Liaise with the paid digital team to craft campaign strategies across Facebook/Instagram, Twitter, Google and beyond
  • Build email campaigns in collaboration with the wider MUBI Releases team
  • Ad-hoc talent and event support for releases, in collaboration with the Communications team

Who You Are

  • Passionate about quality cinema, from classics to new releases 
  • Creative and enthusiastic, with a good head for marketing strategy
  • Capable of managing competing deadlines 
  • A keen project manager who can take ownership of working processes and find ways to improve them 
  • Knowledgeable and excited about the digital landscape, from social media to streaming
  • A strong copywriter and great communicator 
  • Diligent and obsessed with the details
  • Dedicated to making every campaign the best it can be 


  • 7-10 years experience in film marketing
  • Theatrical distribution experience strongly desirable
  • Additional languages are a bonus 
Salary: Dependent on experience.
