Our take

Linking Germany’s Black Forest to the high-rises of Hong Kong, Jonas Bak’s stunning travelog ponders the fragility of family bonds. Guided by an elderly widow’s path through a new political reality, the 16mm cinematography and Brian Eno’s hypnotic track “New Space Music” radiate timelessness.
