Our take

Rabah Ameur-Zaïmeche’s first film draws from his own experiences growing up in Paris’ banlieue, recording in a raw, naturalistic style the everyday struggles of its people. A difficult return exposes France’s problems of social integration, and acts as an authentic, sensitive call for reflection.
