Our take

A heart-wrenching survival story of a farming family, Bimal Roy’s Do Bigha Zamin poetically upholds the virtue of living by ethics despite morally challenging circumstances. Evocative performances by the legends Balraj Sahni and Nirupa Roy make the struggles of the protagonists extremely palpable.
