Chinese director Yuan Qing goes after the big questions with this blissful, three-pronged debut. Channelling the essence of Éric Rohmer—and casting the great Pascal Greggory!—for her portrayal of a young woman’s spiritual awakening, Yuan delivers a charming antidote to frigid festival fare.
