Our take

Geraldine Page finally took home a long overdue Oscar® (following 8 nominations) for this wistfully nostalgic road movie. John Heard and Rebecca De Mornay lend nimble support, but this is Page’s show: a full-bodied, unsentimental leading role for one of the great American actors of stage and screen.
