Synopsis

Robert Legard, an eminent plastic surgeon, turns his mysterious mansion into an underground operating room where he unscrupulously seeks to create a skin that could have saved his deceased wife, who was badly burned in an accident. Vera is Legard’s unwilling specimen and captive human sculpture.

Rape (three, actually), bondage, fratricide, extreme fetish, incest, voyeurism, forced sexual reassignment, plastic surgery: only Almodovar could make it all seem so sexy, and make us totally emotionally invested in the characters to boot.
