Released the same year the Serbian government banned the Belgrade Pride parade, Srđan Dragojević’s raunchy comedy captures a harsh, volatile political reality underneath uproarious jokes. While banking on kitschy stereotypes, this box-office hit remains deeply sympathetic to its characters’ plight.
