Our take

Between two experimental, personal love stories—Memoires d’un juif tropical and Romamor—French filmmaker Joseph Morder wrote and directed The Dead Tree: another story of serendipitous romance, and a similarly impressionistic, if perhaps more melodramatic, dialogue between two unlikely people.
