Our take

Buoyed by the Oscar®-winning success of Burnt by the Sun, Nikita Mikhalkov secured funding for an even bigger, madder dose of romantic maximalism. With an all-star international cast, The Barber of Siberia has all the vast landscapes, surging love affairs, and duels one could ask of a Russian epic.
