Taking inspiration from Hitchcock’s The Wrong Man, Arnaud Desplechin mounts an exacting procedural with docudramatic precision. Essaying the workings of a police precinct, Oh Mercy! delights in the details of its caseload, and illuminates the sociopolitical roots of the crimes under investigation.
