I laughed so hard during the movie and it just got weirder and weirder. I love French cinema and know all the actors and actresses from lots of movies. So it was very funny watching Canet’s crisis when comparing himself to Gilles Lellouche or Johnny Hallyday. Unfortunately my French is too bad to really appreciate Marion Cotillard’s effort to learn Québécois but it sounded funny nonetheless.
A good meditation on one man’s mid life crisis and attempts to recapture his youth. Genre wise it’s a bit all over the place, beginning as a comedy/drama (where it felt more at home) and then as the film progresses, turning into a surreal and absurdist caper, complete with musical numbers and disco lighting.
