In a sleepy town on the edge of the French-Swiss border, dreams are fated to evaporate. Featuring an atmospheric soundscape made of disco tunes, twinkling cow bells, and a gentle piano score, Alain Tanner’s portrait of rural desperation is misty with a yearning for urban excitement and prosperity.
