Our take

A prelude to Hotel New York, Jackie Raynal’s eccentric short moves from surrealist musings on New York hotels, full of strange and neurotic incidents, to a humorous rendering of futile domesticity. The crucial appearance of the now defunct Carnegie Hall Cinema is especially nostalgic and poignant.
