The hopes of the American dream are shattered over the course of a long, tortuous day in Lemonade, the enthralling debut by Romanian writer-director Ioana Uricaru. This bleak journey of a woman and her son through the U.S. immigration system is carried by astute dialogue and intricate filmmaking.
