Our take

A monarchical tale told in the style of Sofia Coppola’s Marie Antoinette, this lurid debut from renowned producer Lluis Minarro revels in a deliciously camp aesthetic. Pairing painterly tableaux with anachronistic needle drops, Falling Star makes for a winking allegory of modern Spanish politics.
