Before Guy Ritchie unleashed a self-aware tidal wave of diamond geezers and cheeky chappies, this superlative crime thriller from Antonia Bird upheld the traditions of the great British gangster film. Starring Ray Winstone, Robert Carlyle, and Damon Albarn (!), Face is a heist movie par excellence.
