Our take

Adapting his own “cinematographic short story” and collaborating again with Woman Without a Face director Gustaf Molander, young screenwriter Ingmar Bergman explores in Eva what will soon become familiar themes: death and obsession, guilt and trauma, and the return of the repressed.
