Our take

A contemplative adaptation of Nahid Sırrı Örik’s classic novel, Zeki Demirkubuz’s melancholic costume drama forges an incisive character portrait to reflect on the arbitrariness of evil. Set in the early days of the Turkish Republic, Envy explores the roots of love and hatred between two siblings.
