Critics reviews

The clips are edited together with an emphasis on dance and gesture, including one heartstopping party sequence from Portrait of a Young Woman at the End of the 1960s in Brussels (1994) that says volumes about desire in a few minutes. While the imagery is television-quality, it has warmth and wisdom to spare, including essential details about Akerman’s grandmother, also an artist.
