Our take

Beware the dangers of cinephilia! Krzysztof Kieślowski’s sophomore feature is a riveting study of filmmaking as a tool for telling other people’s stories. Exploring the reality of censorship in Communist Poland, it asks us to reflect on the artist’s social responsibility in trying political times.
