Our take

Leaving Britain behind for his first—and only—American film, Ken Loach turns a Justice for Janitors campaign into a heartfelt site of struggle. Co-starring Adrien Brody, it’s Pilar Padilla who steals the show in this spirited drama, which reveals the true plight of immigrants in the city of angels.
