BLACK MUSEUM is an excellent finale in the fourth season of BLACK MIRROR. I always feel this episode has a similar plot structure with WHITE CHRISTMAS, but it offered a different story. I loved it. I love how Charlie Brooker made the story so intriguing. I kept guessing about how it would end. Then, came that plot-twist. The twist itself not so special to me. But it succeed to surprise me. I didn't see that coming...
"Black Mirror" goes full-on "Tales of the Crypt," complete with the occasional comic book movie-style visual flourish and atmosphere, and a clear stand-in for the devil himself: a well-dressed, smooth-talking man who appears just at your moment of weakness with a reassuring smile and soul-stealing deal. It's a fun and at times disturbing ride, but can't match the heights of its clear precedent, "White Christmas."
3.5* With every consciousness uploaded to the paradisial cloud there will probably be thousands trapped in terrible stuffed monkeys limited to two emotions. While parts of this deeply troubled it's odd that BM's final ep of series 4 gives us a nasty, welcome bit of revenge and catharsis yet still feels like a missed opportunity.
