Our take

Prior to Ata, Tibetan director Chakme Rinpoche, who grew up in a monastery, had no formal training in filmmaking. This searing feature debut is all the more extraordinary for how it masterfully utilizes a highly sensory soundscape to depict the often neglected experience of the sightless.
