Directed by Nobuhiro Suwa
Japan, 1997

In preparing for this film, Nobuhiro Suwa wrote a detailed script and then threw it away at the last moment. Instead, in a manner reminiscent of Mike Leigh and John Cassavetes, he worked intensively with the actors to develop their characters and allowed the script to develop from there.

Critics reviews

The placements and displacements of [Suwa’s] camera in 2/Duo are often extraordinary in elucidating the essence of a scene.
