Małgorzata Szumowska is steadily becoming one of the most fascinating voices in contemporary European cinema. Co-directed with Michal Englert, Never Gonna Snow Again is her best yet, a magic realist fable that summons powerful allegorical allusions to the sociopolitical state of modern Poland.
