Synopsis
Circus-born Alma has an affair with her ill father and is pregnant by him. Shunned by her peers, she takes to the streets as a fire-eater and joins up with a marionette troupe, led by Refugio. She then works with the leader’s puppeteer son Sacramento to put on performances of Old Testament stories.
