“When I think of my role as a filmmaker or a storyteller, it’s not about sending a message, but rather about creating a space for meeting with one’s own disappointments, frustrations or fears. My hope is to go beyond my own experience but at the same time stay authentic. It is most rewarding when the film reaches places that I couldn’t have reached myself.”
