“When you listen to José Pinhal’s songs for the first time there seems to be a fever for source, and it was in that fever that I went into research about the artist. I ended up finding an article on a blog that would become the beginning of ['A Vida Dura Muito Pouco']. Nelson Gomes, also consumed by the fever of sourcing, asked in 2008: “Who was José Pinhal?” and raised the myth about some tapes found in a studio’s trash. As a director, it seemed like a perfect start for a story.”
