“...to tell you the truth, it's a bit like that, by chance. These films that I was able to shoot were in costumes. But you know, I wrote so many scenarios that would have become historical movies and have not been shot. Basically, all this may seem very disparate but I had a terrible handicap: I loved women. When I was in love, I went around the world accompanied by a girlfriend, often a Miss France, which cost me a considerable fortune. As long as I had money, I made trips and, once the money was spent, I went home and went back to work.”
