“In my circle, each person films what he or she feels close to, and where they are carried by their desires. I can only speak for myself—I don't know how to film a middle-class milieu, because I don't have stories to tell about that environment; I don't know the "codes." My artistic work is directed more towards people who are more in need of representation. We know that often they end up in works made full of good intentions, but where the artistic process is sub-standard. So for me it's important to film them in another way, with real aesthetic concern and endowing them with stature.”
